Why we created Everyday Lives Leading Advances: Ella
We are living in a golden age of science, but progress is too slow for too many people. Pharmaceutical breakthroughs happen constantly, but they’re stuck behind bottlenecks, bureaucracy, and systems that leave people waiting.
Researchers from Yale University and Trusted Medical, a provider with 30 clinics across the U.S., have collaborated on multiple clinical research studies. Over the years, we have run into these barriers firsthand. Together, we decided to do something to help science move faster by creating a research community that puts people first, called Ella.
Everyday Lives Leading Advances: Ella is designed to change this. Ella is not a product. Not a company. Ella is a promise: Tomorrow’s breakthroughs should begin with all of us, today.

Where it started
Researchers from Yale University and Trusted Medical, a provider with 30 clinics across the U.S., have collaborated on multiple clinical research studies. Our journey began with the Yale Paxlovid Long COVID (PAX LC) Trial, an investigational research study to improve treatment for long COVID.
That trial became the foundation of our relationship. Together, we decided to do something to help science move faster. Ella, a new research community that puts people first, is our solution. When you join Ella, you become part of a collective working to reshape the future of medical research.
Where we are today
Now, Ella is tackling health and weight in collaboration with Yale researchers, Trusted Medical, and WW. We’re creating a supportive, stigma-free space where science meets real life. By joining, you help turn groundbreaking research into everyday breakthroughs.
